allow an area to search to be drawn on the map

The rectangle box on the map seems to only allow you to select an area that keeps the same ratio between height and width. You could allow an area to be draw a "pencil" tool. You could keep it simpler to code by only using simple shapes. e.g. create a search area by drawing a circle aro... more

The current map allows you to zoom within the aspect ratio of the site, and then drag and zoom. The same flexibility is achieved without needing to create a polygon. One issue that arises is that if you draw your shape then zoom the map in / out / drag the map, the properties would have to stay in view which is the opposite to the current drag and reload behaviour of the globrix map.

Street searches, and long postcode searches are already allowed.

Thanks

You can search for specific streets and long postcodes, giving you an exact location. If you then go to fine tune you can choose a radius, then switch to the map view.

  2. Something like this would be great, or you could put a pin in the map (similar to how you can on google maps) and then specify a radius or drag out a radius or something. It would also be particularly good if you could save that search too.

  3. Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward (www.kfh.co.uk) have a pretty good implementation of this!

I agree : a search by street would be extremely useful... The nice / not so nice areas granularity is often too fine for the search...
